My name is Jonas Jongejan and i live in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark, and i’m working in the field in between art and technology. I’m very interested in making art projects with extreme use of different technologies interacting with the audience or performer. I have been programming homepages for many years, but i wanted to make things that didn’t have the computer monitor and browser as limits, but make things that didn’t have any predefined borders. So i started programming in Processing and learning how to generate graphics based on different interactions.
At the same time i began to work on theatres in Copenhagen as video technician. So i builded up a network of people with very different backgrounds in this environment. And slowly i saw how the mixture of interactive video (or applications in other formats as well) and theatre could work out very well. The first big performance i worked on with interactive video was together with my good friend Ole Kristensen for a dance performance he was working on where we developed a big processing application for tracking dancers and project on them again. See more here. And since i really have been hooked on developing this field even more.
I primary work as freelance on different art projects, often i hook up with Ole Kristensen on projects. Besides i’m involved in the art/tech collective Illutron, where i sometimes make stuff together with them.
